New Jerseyians, The Biggest Message From The 2025 Election Results Is This: The People Have The Power!

There is an energy in the air resulting in a demand for life to change for the better, for all of us. Voters made a statement. They see the hypocrisy of establishment politicians. They witnessed the lavish parties while wielding food and starvation as political weapons, during a federal government shutdown, and sustaining an ongoing genocide abroad.

The mainstream narratives of maintaining war and capitalism increasingly leave voters with a blurrier vision of reality via media blackouts, issue-dodging, and sneakily increasing ballot requirements. Both the major parties are controlled by the ruling class through corporations, lobbyists, and class traitors. And both put out all stops, both in NJ’s state elections and nationally, to prevent the public from being educated about socialist, non-establishment candidates. Their goal is to prevent voters from understanding the absurdity of the current political process, which only serves the 1% on the backs of the working class.

Despite these challenges, our candidates spoke to thousands of potential voters across the state. In neighborhoods, at community events, and across social media, they consistently advocated for the Green Party platform and the revolutionary change that this platform can bring to NJ’s residents.

Thank you to Lily Benavides, Robin Brownfield, Lisa Ryan, Barry Bendar, and Steve Welzer, who remained dedicated to advocating for the anti-imperialist, ecosocialist, and working-class issues ignored by the ruling class’s Democratic and Republican parties.

“As my campaign for governor of New Jersey came to a close, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible support I’ve received. Although I faced the challenge of not being officially on the ballot, the encouragement and positivity from everyone I met have truly inspired me. Instead of feeling discouraged, I will stay committed to our communities and consistently prioritize the welfare of our citizens by standing for justice and promoting peace. Thank you for being part of this journey.”

– Lily Benavides, GPNJ 2025 Gubernatorial Candidate

VOTING IS ONLY ONE TACTIC FOR CHANGE

The system set up for people assuming office intentionally prevents the ability to make real change. It is an obstacle, not a pathway.. It is only via the organized mass movement of people that change can occur. Our work as the Green Party of NJ will continue with a renewed focus on local organizing and political education within our communities throughout the Garden State.

With this, we invite you to become a member of the Green Party of New Jersey. Also, we welcome both new and old members to join us on Sunday, November 30th, from 1:00 -3:00 p.m. for our General State Meeting. Register here to attend virtually, or join us in person at the office of New Labor (Middlesex County), 55 Paterson Street, 2nd Floor, New Brunswick, NJ 08901.
