FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FaBW ENDORSES JERRY L. COLEMAN, CANDIDATE OF THE GREEN PARTY OF NEW JERSEY,
FOR ELECTION AS GOVERNOR

The August issue of the Newark-based monthly newsletter, "For A Better World" has just announced that it endorses Jerry L. Coleman of the Green Party as its choice for Governor of New Jersey. In a page two article, the newsletter describes Coleman as "the best candidate because his platform
represents the needs of the people...."

The editorial board of FaBW feels that "a leading issue in New Jersey is 'racial profiling' of motorists and noted that Mr. Coleman wants strengthened laws against this illegal practice. If elected Governor, Jerry will ban so-called "consent searches" and will work to implement civilian review boards with subpoena power to hear police misconduct complaints. The paper also noted that other positions which factored into its decision to endorse Coleman are Jerry's support for full funding for public schools  and his support for universal health care.

The FaBW endorsement capped a busy campaign weekend for Jerry. On Saturday, he appeared on the William Paterson College radio progam hosted by Kamau Khalfani, named "Under the Learning Tree." During the radio interview, Mr. Khalfani invited Jerry back again to explain his views for a full hour and also invited him to appear on a cable TV program. Jerry also campaigned in Newark on Saturday at the busy intersection of Broad and Market Streets.

Next Saturday, August 4th, at 11:00 a.m., Jerry is expected to appear at the Essex Green party  meeting along with Steven Ma, a campaign finance reform activist who is walking throughout the State to raise awareness about the issue of big money dominating politics. The meeting will take place at the law offices of Joseph A. Fortunato, 546 Valley Rd., Upper Montclair, NJ.
