ASSEMBLYMAN MATT AHEARN HOLDS COMMUNITY FORUMS THROUGHOUT DISTRICT 38
(PARAMUS) -- Assemblyman Matt Ahearn
(G-Fair Lawn) recently hosted a series
of community forums in the municipalities within District 38. The
forums
were held to give his constituents an opportunity to express their
concerns
and opinions on various state, regional and local issues.
"Constituent services is a top
priority for me," said Ahearn. "I want the
people in my district to know our office is here to help them any time
they
need us. Even though the Legislature is on temporary adjournment,
our
district office doesn't stop working."
Ahearn explained to his constituents who
took advantage of the opportunity
to meet with him how his office can cut through the red tape of government
bureaucracies.
"State agencies don't ignore calls
from a Legislator's office," commented
Ahearn. "We can get through and get an answer when the
constituents can't."
Residents in the various towns brought up a myriad of issues that concern
them, such as the flooding of the Saddle River, local prescription
discount
programs, property tax reform and noise pollution on busy urban streets.
"Not only do we hear people's
concerns, but we also get a chance to discuss
possible solutions to their problem," stated Ahearn. "It's
been a learning
experience for me as well as for them."
District 38 is comprised of Cliffside
Park, Edgewater, Elmwood Park, Fair
Lawn, Fort Lee, Hasbrouck Heights, Little Ferry, Lodi, Paramus,
Ridgefield,
Saddle Brook, South Hackensack and Teterboro.
