Discussion Forums

I've found these very interesting online newsgroup style discussion forums located at NJ.COM. (A good online source for corporate NJ news. Its owned by the Asbury Park Press/Home News/101.5 fm people. It's also associated with the Star-Ledger)

Before you go running off to put in your two cents please remember that these forums are not in any way exclusive to the greens. They are state-wide, and they are full of opinions and 'threads' representing all sorts of ideas across the political specturm. Maybe we can shed a little light on things for a few people. We can also participate in discussion threads with each other, but remember our debates will be open for anyone in the state, or world, to observe.

In other words, heated debates and 'intra green' issues might be best worked out through email or over the phone. Just a thought.

Also, a few words of advice about posting to a 'thread'. It is best to try and discuss the topic at hand. Specific responses are best. Mentioning links with information backing up what you are saying is even better (like our page!). Join the conversation, be polite, and all that stuff. Your impression could greatly help us, or hurt us. These forums can also be a great place to post press releases. I would suggest trying to contact the editor first, and if that fails then post to one of the forums. And don't overdo it. Too many posts, or wildly inappropriate posts (like trying to sell your car in a politics thread) will lead people to ignore you, or worse yet accuse you of 'Spamming'.

Examples of spamming can include unwanted emails with get rich quick schemesand newsgroup posts wildly unrelated to thread context, etc. Another example is the national alt.politics.greens area of the usenet. All sorts of right wing wackos are always spamming it with tons of messages to try and disrupt people's threads and conversations.

For more information on Spamming, and how you can help prevent its spread check these links out:
