10:45 to 11:15 Election of County Committee persons
This order below is from the
Consent Order requiring that the Annual
Convention not only elect GPNJ Officers, delegates to GPUS Committees,
delegates to represent GPNJ at the GPUS Convention for Presidential
nomination, and ask for volunteers for GPNJ Standing Committees but that we
elect members for county committees presented by the Locals. Remember, that
the Dems and Reps do this at the Primary in June. Many people forget or do
not even know what those names are for at the bottom of the ballot.
Please read and
think about this carefully since it requires some work on the part of GPNJ
members who are registered Green Party voters. There is a requirement
for Treasurers taking an in-person or online test (workshop). So this
order requires some planning and we do not expect all counties to fill the
positions in the first year. See this link for
Code and Statutes referenced below.

19:44A-20.3 through 19:44A-20.27, provided that the plaintiffs: (a) may
elect members to such committees at the plaintiffs’ conventions, rather than
at a primary election; (b) shall, within ten (10) days of each such
convention, notify the Division of Elections that members have bean elected
to each such committee; and (c) shall, for each such committee, observe the
requirements of N.J.S.A. 19:44A-10 to designate, on or before July 1
in each year, a single organizational treasurer and an organizational
