Paula Ellentuch

for

Hunterdon County Clerk

Paula was born and raised in New York City. Her family moved to Raritan Township, New Jersey in 1964, where she attended Hunterdon Central High School.

She earned a B.A. in Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1971. In 2004 I enrolled in the American Bar Association approved Paralegal Studies program at FDU and graduated with honors in August 2005.

For the last 25 years she has worked as a freelance writer and as an editor for Control Data Corporation and Formosa Plastics Corporation, U.S.A.

Upon her return to Raritan Township in 1994, she became actively involved in neighborhood affairs. She opposed a decision by the township to allow spot zoning and commenced legal proceedings to challenge the decision. She also objected to a zoning variance that would allow Nextel to put up a cell tower in Northlandz. Recently she assisted the homeowners of Greenwood Place in preventing two fast food restaurants from moving into their residential neighborhood.

Over the years Paula has been actively involved in sports, as a player, referee, and coach. I hold coaching certificates in basketball from St. John’s University and in ice hockey from USA Hockey.

Paula strongly supports full accountability at all levels of government. She is a fiscal conservative, who believes we should pay as we go. She believes we have a responsibility to the planet and all life on it and that we must act to remediate the damage we have done if there is to be a healthy and prosperous future for our children.

Previous runs for office: Paula is a first time political candidate and finds it a humbling experience.

Paula is running for this office because she believes that the County Clerk should be non-partisan and there should be no question if that person would serve all of the citizens of this County. There are too many instances when government officials violate the law but are not held accountable. You must decide if this is conduct you are willing to pay for.

What are Paula's top priorities if elected?
1. To make fair, reasoned, and knowledgeable decisions.
2. To hold government agencies and employees accountable for their actions.
3. To help government become more efficient to better serve citizens.
4. Promote voting machines with an audit trail.
