Lynne
Lynne Knudsen has
been living in Hackensack since 1963, where she and her husband raised their 3 children. She
has been a social activist for as long as she can remember, building houses with
Habitat for Humanity, volunteering as a trail guide for Flat Rock Brook , the
peace and justice programs in the Unitarian Society, The Sierra Club,
videotaping for the Puffin Institute in Teaneck. She has been a teacher of
English and English as a Second Language for many schools - presently with the
Hudson County Community College, and will be volunteering to teach Mayan women
in Guatamala this summer. Her book Lullabies from Around the World , was
published in 1967 and her concept of of an intercultural peace center called The
Peace Pavilion, brought her to Austria and Glasgow to present it.
Her current interest in saving our planet through environmental measures coupled
with her passion for social justice has brought her to the Green Party of NJ,
Bergen County local. She fervently believes that it is time for the people to
take back the power from corporations who now rule the country and the world.
