At its Annual Convention on April 11, 1999, the Green Party of New Jersey adopted a resolution regarding the crisis in the Balkans with the following points:

  • The Green Party of New Jersey calls for an immediate halt to the U.S.-NATO bombing campaign.

  • The Green Party of New Jersey calls for a return of civilian peace monitors to the Kosovo region, under the auspices of the UN, who could maintain a presence until a political settlement is reached. We call for sustained humanitarian relief for all people in Yugoslavia, of all ethnicities.

  • The Green Party condemns genocide taking place in the Balkans, in accordance with our principle of non-violence.

The Green Party of New Jersey endorses the demonstration, called for by the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF), against the NATO bombing in Yugoslavia. It will be held at the Military Recruitment Center in Montclair, on Bloomfield Avenue, near Valley Road, at noon on May 15.
